Avanco’s vision is to be a mid-tier copper producer.
With our first mine having just realised its first production year anniversary we have demonstrated that we know how to create value at every stage, from exploration discovery through to commercial production. In the near-term we have clear plans to add to our operating Antas Mine and develop our Pedra Branca Project to achieve of our mission to be a 50,000 tonne a year copper producer with significant gold by-product credits. We are also advancing our exploration portfolio tenements for further growth potential.
The market consensus for copper demand and prices are positive. Growth in demand will come from use in consumer goods in China combined with new and replacement infrastructure globally. New supply however is severely constrained as the pipeline of new projects shrinks and mine grades fall.
Avanco has identified the Carajás, one of the world’s richest IOCG mineral provinces, in the north of Brazil as the ideal place to build a mid-tier copper company. The region is host to high-grade undeveloped greenfield copper deposits that offer real development potential. Moreover, Brazil has a good mining heritage and with an established mining code, is a mining friendly jurisdiction. Unlike many other parts of the world where high-grade copper deposits exist, but development is challenged, we are confident that the Carajás is a good place to develop a mid-tier copper company.
